I want to swap postcards of general cargo ships, tankers, passenger ships etc.,. worldwide. In return I want postcards of ships under the Red Ensign and U.S. flag. After nearly 30 years onboard on tankers under different flags in worldwide trading as a catering officer.

Also, do you look after postcards with aeroplanes from Europe? I can help you with postcards of airplanes belonging to the Swedish Royal Air Force and Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) etc.,. In return I want postcards with ships.  See the latest SFBAPCC roster.

Best regards, Jorgen

I think your website is very neat!  I bought a home that is 100 years old, while in the attic today I found a number of post cards. Most are from the 40's.  They are really neat, most from the south (TX, AR, MO, LA).

Hi there, Upon the recent passing away of my grandmother I received this postcard book as I took a shine to it many years ago as a child. I have tried to find some information on it but have not been very successful. The only person to visit San Francisco was my great grandfather before he moved to Australia in 1919, so I am assuming that he was the one who originally purchased the book before he moved here.  Is there any additional information you can give me on the book?  Kind Regards, Josh

Hiya, My name is Jose Ramon, from Tenerife (Spain ; I'm a pocket calendars collector and I'm really interested in having pocket calendars from worldwide.  Please email me if you are interested in swapping with me. I can send you worldwide postcards in exchange.  Pocket calendars are cardboard ones, with a little calendar printed on the one side, and on the other, there is printed an image, picture or even publicity.  Hope to hear from you soon.  Regards.

Hello, How are you? I stumbled upon your website as I was searching the internet for information on old vintage postcards. My fiance and I just inherited what appears to be a very old collection of postcards from his grandfather who passed away. We are very curious to know if they hold any value or not. The majority of the postcards are in booklet form and contain several European postcards (mostly French ones). One booklet is titled "Versailles et les Grianons" and includes a number of postcards with sketched drawings of Versailles, France. There is also a booklet with black and white sketched drawing postcards of the Pantheon, and another with black and white photos of Paris. We also found a few old black and white postcards from Richmond, Virginia that are stamped on the bottom right corner with a message that says "For Victory Buy United States War Bonds and Stamps" with a picture of a soldier. These are just some of the postcards in the collection. I'm hoping you could give us some tips on how to access their value. Any help, advice, or recommendations you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!  Best regards, Dawn Hirano

Hello,  I am currently doing an archive material research for a French documentary film on Mr. Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and the beat poets.  The director, would like to use some photos (or postcards!) of The Jazz Cellar in San Francisco from the 1950 / 1960 ..  I was wondering weather you had any idea where I could find such material...  Any information you might have could be very useful !  Thank you very much for your help and understanding and do not hesitate to contact me for any other information you might need.  Best regards, Ruxandra ANNONIER

I have a collection of over fifty postcards which my mother and father wrote to each other in Russia in 1913 during their courtship year, and I have created a book in which each page shows the front and back of one card with a translation of the message (written in Russian). The various cards are beautiful, and I have written a few short essays about the circumstances, in order to clarify and illuminate the sentimental story of their courtship -- with its little ups and downs and its growing affection between the lovers. The romantic tale is also moving, because the cards were mailed in the year just preceding the onset of World War I, and the subsequent tragic history of the couple. I believe this unique volume would be of particular interest to postcard collectors, and am searching for the proper way to make it available to them. One of my daughters lives in San Francisco, and I have just sent her a copy of the book, which is called "Adya and Olechka, a Postal Romance in Old Russia." If you are interested in seeing it, please let me know and we can arrange a way for her to show it to you. Cordially, Nora Percival

Is there a market for blank, non-picture U.S. postcards? I inherited almost 300 of them in 1-3-4-5-9 (cent) and "U.S. Domestic Rate" denominations, and am trying to figure out what to do with them.
Thanks. Ken Sablik, Novato, California

Hello from Ohio. I am looking for some more information on a set of 6 postcards of 1921 pin-up girls that I inherited from my grandfather. Are they worth anything? Not finding anything like them on my own. Thanks for your help. Sue Ellen Magers

I have inherited what appears to be familial portrait, circa 1915-20, that is embossed with what I presume is a photographic studio logo, “Dore’ S.F. CAL”, which has a postcard backing. Since I have been unable to find any reference to this studio at that particular time, I wonder if you could be of any assistance. Thank you for any advice or assistance you may be able to provide. Sincerely, Jim Davis

Hello, I'm searching for postcard(s) featuring photographs of photographers in the Rocky Mountains. As a former postcard collector and seller (amateur) in Upstate NY, I know that there may be something like this around. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Dave Pierce, Pierce Art & Design

To Any and All SFBAPCC Members, I am co-authoring a book on Theatres of the San Francisco Peninsula with Jack Tillmany, author of a similar Arcadia title on theatres in SF proper, as well as co-author with Jennifer Dowling of Theatres of Oakland, and I have one published on the same subject for San Jose. We are looking for postcard images of either or both old movie theatres that once existed in Half Moon Bay:  Half Moon Bay Theatre and Patio Theatre. We have apparently exhausted sources in Half Moon Bay itself. Might any of you have any such images? Interested in: -- Purchasing the actual cards, OR, -- Purchasing 400dpi Tiff images of those cards if you wish to keep them in your collection. Appropriate credit would of course be given.  Gary Lee Parks
