Scanner Settings
Recommended scanner setting: 200 DPI at 100%
In any event, the long side of the postcard image MUST BE GREATER THAN
800 PIXELS. (It doesn't matter if the postcard is upside-down,
vertical or horizontal.)
JPG (JPEG) file compression should be high or medium (“High" or "Medium”
means not very compressed in case your software uses other words or
numbers).
You can get a rough idea if you have the right image resolution from
the file size. The file size would be expected to be in these ranges
for a complex multicolored postcard image:
1.2 MB -- No compression
450 KB -- "High" (not very compressed)
250 KB -- "Medium" (more compressed than "High")
A simple monotone (or black and white) postcard would have a smaller
file size, but would probably be at least 100 KB at medium
compression. So, file size would be expected to be in the 100 KB to
450 KB range depending on the image.
