California Admission Day Festival 1910

California Admission Day 1910 Festival, San Francisco September 8, 9, 10.  Miss California (with poppy flowers in her hair) hands a California Grizzly Bear cub (Ursus californicus) to Miss United States (looks like a teddy bear -- Teddy Roosevelt left the Presidency in 1909) so the cub can take his place with the State of Indiana's bison (Bison bison) and other state animals.

The festival was a celebration of California having become the thirty-first state to be admitted to the Union on September 9, 1850.
